Ben Carroll |

Coming from a musical family as the son of Grammy-winning Starland Vocal Band members ("Afternoon Delight", 1976),
Carroll enjoyed a rich musical exposure in his childhood, chiefly in the veins of harmony-laden folk and pop of the
70s, and the R&B/Soul/Roots sounds of the deep south. These influences have been naturally integrated into his music,
lustrously evoked by his poetic delivery and his voice of startling honesty and beauty.
Carroll has steadily toured North America and Europe as a solo act since 2004. He released his debut solo album
Lover Undercover in 2005 and his followup Real Thing in 2007 (on UK label Blue Cloud Records), which was #1 for f
ive weeks on AAA FM Radio in Ohio and was played on over fifty radio stations in the US and Europe. His songs have
also been featured in television and film, most recently in Pier's End Productions' 2008 release "Wake", which
premiered at the Tribeca Cinema in New York City (home of the Tribeca Film Festival). Amore Magazine's reader
poll voted Carroll a top solo artist, and his songwriting and performances have been celebrated by the New York
Songwriters Circle and BMI New York.

Incidental Days, Gallery Show |

Cydney Campbell and Jason Bord have been working collaboratively to produce a cohesive body of work that focuses on natural elements and locations with the addition of poetic concepts and visuals. The most poignant aspects of this work pulls from each of the artists' individual aesthetics. Jason largely works outdoors with raw compositions of natural materials, while Cydney winds her way through ideas via writing and applying these concepts to physical objects and configurations. In combining the physical and conceptual work of these artists, the end results are compositions that are attractive in visual and intellectual ways.
The process for the work in Incidental Days focuses on finding spaces that appeal to both of the artists. Because of Jason's draw toward natural elements, they felt that discovering site-specific areas in local forests and bluffs was an acceptable starting point. As they hike through the woods, a heightened sense of observation engulfs them. In search of splitting wood, crevasses in stone, and other desirable sites. The primary focus is the color red, which is used to emphasize areas of natural intrigue. The cohesive tension merges together to create a unity among materials, nature and artists.
As they continued to work with the red, they began to acknowledge how it evoked a deeper sense of emotion. Red is commonly used to express love, hate, anger, passion, conflict, and life—all very diverse emotions. These emotions range from the most sensuous feelings of lust and love to achy, macabre sensations most people can't help but pay attention to. This color became appealing because of its magnetic nature that echoed how Jason and Cydney were attracted toward these locations.

Noah Earle |
| Saturday, 8 pm |
$10 |

Noah Earle was born in Topeka, Kansas, "a good place to dig potatoes." Surrounded by a musical family, he absorbed various strains of influence. His musical involvement began in early childhood when he would listen to the traditional country and country-gospel music that his family would play and sing at their gatherings. Between the ages of about 5 and 18 he underwent classical training for piano, voice and fiddle (his grandpa said "never let anybody call it a violin"). By the age of 10, he had decided that he wanted to write songs, like his uncle and grandfather. Throughout this time, he was also exposed to blues and jazz by his dad and uncle, both of whom performed in a number of bands. From these surroundings Noah has emerged as a formidable solo artist, displaying unmistakable talent through his deft and varied guitar style and an agile, soulful approach to his singing.
Others have been quick to recognize Earle's talent. In 2006 he won the solo category of the Kansas City Blues Challenge and was a finalist in the International Blues Competition in Memphis. Most recently, he was chosen as a New Folk finalist at the renowned Kerrville Folk Festival in 2007.
Earle's first release for MayApple Records, Postcards From Home, found him focusing his songwriting solidly in the Americana vein. His second, This is the Jubilee, which was released in April of 2010, represents an evolutionary leap toward greater confidence and stylistic originality.

Caleb Hawley |
| Saturday, 8 pm |
TBD |
|
Caleb Hawley is a singer-songwriter based out of his car mostly. Over the past couple years, he has traveled all
over the country, along with his dog Fargo playing anywhere from cafes to bars, and colleges to nursing homes.
In journey, he’s had the opportunity to share the stage or opened for artists such as Rusted Root, Marc Cohn, and The
Dave Mathews Band. He’s a charming, soft-spoken guitar virtuoso with a great big voice that can sing just about
anything.
Top awards include the John Lennon Songwriting Contest ('09) and the New York Songwriters Circle contest
('08, '09). He also placed first in his 6th grade talent show a few years ago... Often compared to Stevie Wonder,
James Taylor, and John Mayer, this is a diverse dude who pulls out all the stops when it’s time to entertain a crowd.
